Ingredients
Scale
Proteins:
- 1.5 pounds sausage (kielbasa or smoked sausage), sliced
Vegetables:
- 2 pounds baby creamer potatoes, washed, sliced in half
- 2 (15 ounces) cans green beans, drained
- 1 cup onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
Seasonings and Liquids:
- 1/8 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon Slap Ya Mama seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Prepare the oven by heating to 400°F and coating a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
- Slice creamer potatoes in half and transfer to a large sealable bag.
- Drizzle oil over potatoes and sprinkle seasonings, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Seal and shake vigorously to ensure even coating.
- Brown sausage in a frying pan with water over medium-high heat until fully cooked and liquid mostly evaporates. Allow sausage to cool, then add to potato bag.
- Using the same pan, melt butter and sauté onions and garlic until onions become translucent. Cool briefly, then incorporate into the bag with sausage.
- Gently add green beans to the bag, shake to distribute ingredients evenly, and carefully transfer entire mixture into prepared baking dish.
- Cover dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes, or until potatoes reach desired tenderness.
- Remove casserole from oven, let rest for a few minutes, then serve hot and enjoy the flavorful one-pan meal.
Notes
- Customize the spice level by adjusting red pepper flakes, adding more or less to suit personal heat tolerance.
- Use pre-cooked sausage or swap with turkey sausage for a leaner protein option.
- Choose fresh green beans for crisp texture, or frozen beans work well in off-season months.
- Ensure even cooking by cutting potatoes and sausage into similar-sized pieces for consistent doneness.
